There’s nothing I don’t hate about this: the necessity for pepper spray, the cheerful colors they come in the fucking girl on the advertisement smiling, the fact that it’s labeled a “safety essential for bacK TO SCHOOL” GODDAMN IT
This is so fucked up. And the saddest part is that this is our reality.
My generation is getting to the age where they’re starting to become parents, so please, I implore you: teach your sons that this is not okay. Teach them that this is not right. Teach them that women should not have to be afraid of attack to the point where pepper spray is advertised as a back to school item.
I don’t really want to live on this planet anymore, but I have to have hope that this will change in the future, even if I’m not around to see it. Because goddamn it, this should not be a thing.
