The thing about âget helpâ that really gets to me is that the ruse isâŚ. totally unneeded? thor 200% can throw loki those extra few feet he just⌠idk wants to put on a show i guess. i just canât get over his complete and utter glee at having â"fooledââ the guards when in reality he just didnât give them enough time to react before throwing his whole ass brother at them like he did not need to put on an entire production to chuck loki. but He Did
my townâs fireworks were cancelled because they had hired a new company to supply the display this year, and the company ended up not having a properly certified driver to deliver the fireworks from maryland to beachwood, NJ.Â
everyone found this out at 2pm on july 4th.
the display was not delivered earlier because apparently there was no place to store them.
my town has been doing this for like 70 years so like. good work everyone involved.
when calls were made to the company, callers were met with an automated message informing them that the company was closed for the holiday.
amazing
mayor was Pissed beyond Pissed. this is a huge thing that my townâs been doing for decades that people invest a lot of money in. everyoneâs bummed.
however
around 8:30 last night, everyone and their mother started shooting off illegal fireworks, implying that people heard about this, and immediately drove to delaware or pennsylvania, and stocked up on all the good shit thatâs illegal in NJ.
not a single siren/police boat to be seen
from my auntâs dock, i had a great view of one house on the water in particular shooting off more fireworks than everyone else, blasting music, tons of smoke and noise.
I donât know if youâve actually seen this episode, but Pam invites the entire office to her art show that sheâs been gearing up for for a really long time. Nobody shows up except for Oscar and his partner (and they critique her work, calling her âlacking in courageâ among other things, not realizing she is standing right behind them) and then Michael. And Michael is the only one who tells her she is great just for putting herself out there, and the only one who places value on what sheâs done, and he points out all the little details she got right and notices absolutely every bit of hard work she put into it. And then treats Pam like the artist she is by not just paying her for her art, but displaying it where literally everyone can see it.
Itâs one of my favorite episodes.
So, my dad is the boss at his job, and when I was growing up watching the office, I always imagine my goofy ass dad acting like Michael Scott at work (not the case but w/e). My dad was and has always been pretty emotionally distant, and so this episode hit home so hard. Because Pamâs reaction to finally being validated and having someone tell her theyâre proud of her (someone who rarely shows these tender moments with such poignancy no less) was so relatable and heart-warming.
