Look right above the tentacle arm. The second man at the buffet, what the hell is he doing? He’s either throwing up or eating an octopus.

I think his face is just tentacles.

The blind man has gills.

Scariest detail: this image was ripped from the creator’s site and vandalized (edited to remove the watermark), then reuploaded for viral fame without so much as a mention of the artist’s name.

That said, the earlier observation about milk being $15 is off – artist confirms this is based on a 1920’s diner, so the price would be in cents.

The table under the journal is lacquered with ants.

The person holding the skull-creamed coffee paints the underside of their nails. Either that or their natural nails grow red.

The journal’s writing, intentionally made hard to read and partially obscured, is somewhat of a cheat to all the things amiss in the scene. This never failed to make me laugh, because that letter is not pronounced like B. It is a sharp S.

why are star wars planets more boring than earth and our solar system like sure we’ve seen desert, snow, diff types of forest, beach, lava, rain, but like… 

rainbow mountains (peru)

red soil (canada/PEI)

rings (saturn’s if they were on earth) 

bioluminescent waves

northern lights (canada)

salt flats (bolivia, where they filmed crait but did NOTHING COOL WITH IT except red dust?? like??? come ON)

and cool fauna like the touch me not or like, you know, the venus flytrap.. and don’t get me started on BUGS like… we have bugs cooler than sw aliens

I KNOW!! I did a report on filming locations in Star Wars last year and just made a list of places that looked so surreal they could make a convincing other planet. You covered some on my list but if I could just add a couple more:

Tsingy di Bemaraha, Madagascar

Zhangye Danxia, China (similar to the Rainbow Mountains in terms of appearance)

Chocolate Hills, Philippines

Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland

So many missed opportunities with cool ass things on Earth, Lucasfilms smh…

This is part of my webcomic Postcards in Braille, which you can read on ComicFury or Tapastic. Updates on Mondays! 

This comic/guide works well enough on its own, so I thought it’d be nice to post it here as well 😀 Braille is really cool and you don’t need to be blind or visually impaired to learn it – and spreading the use of Braille can help us build a more inclusive society! everyone wins!

Bonus fun fact: Braille is originally based on Night writing (or sonography), a tactile reading/writing system created for soldiers to communicate silently at night. Louis Braille adapted it into easier to read cells, creating the Braille system. Good to know it evolved into something so useful!

I’m guessing that W being an exception in Braille may have been because Louis Braille was French, and French doesn’t really use the W except in loanwords (for example, French pangrams virtually always contain a loanword to get the W in). 

Postcards in Braille is also a really cute comic with a visually impaired main character, well worth checking out in general.
