A Walk Through Art History

I designed these shoes with a unique goal in mind: to create a shoe as a summation of an entire culture’s art. Each shoe possesses design qualities, color palettes, and designs only found in the respective culture. This project allowed me to investigate art historical cultures in a special way by challenging myself to translate an entire style (or series of styles) onto a single object.

Conveniently, I was able to use these designs as the concentration section of my AP Studio Art portfolio and received a score of a 5!

I possess full federal copyright of these designs.

This gifset shows how Gabriella gives Ariel a sign name based on her long hair, notice how she use the first letter of Ariel’s name in sign form (letter ‘A’) to ‘write/draw’ with both hands the hair of our favorite redhead.

In Deaf culture and sign language, a sign name (or a name sign) is a special sign that is used to uniquely identify a person, just like a name.

Name signs come in all forms. Some are based on the person’s birth name or initials. Some are based on their physical features or personality traits. And other name signs might be based on the person’s interests.

Some of Jack-Jack’s new previously unseen powers

There was a lot of behind-the-scenes griping at Pixar about how difficult it was to animate the first Incredibles – it was their first movie with all-human characters after all – and in the end, I don’t think they were totally satisfied with the result.

With that being said, I am 100% certain that this is just an excuse to flex on the haters and show how far animation has come in 14 years. And I am totally fine with that.

He is way too powerful

Can we talk about this for a second? Because this is exactly how history in the US is taught. Since I went to college, I’ve learned dozens of “facts” I’d been taught about the US military and our wars were complete and utter falsehoods made to make us appear the heroes. Every time I watch ATLA I discover more and more statements about the world around us and I just fucking love it.

We should be more pro-active or we’ll see more of such sad fates of honest people.

And the utterly ironic thing is I’ve seen repeated tumblr posts of that iconic photo absolutely slagging the shit out of Peter Norman as “lol white guy so uncomfortable”   “Why the fuck isn’t he supporting them”, etc etc.

As an Australian this post surprised me. I knew none of the above.

Spreading for Australian awareness ❤
