“I started talking to this girl, she was like, ‘I’m going to the show tonight!’ and I was like, ‘Oh, cool, I’m going to the show too!’ she was really fucking cool, she had a green day shirt on from the last tour and she was just real nice. She was like, ‘Can I take a picture?’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, take a picture, go ahead’, she was like … (he spots the girl in the crowd) Oh there she is, right there, how ya doin? You know what? You told me you didn’t look so good tonight when you getting ready to take the picture? You look beautiful.”
one of the many endless reasons to love green day, the compassion they have for the fans. the fanbase in general is amazing and we’re all a bunch of idiots making fun of them (I honestly have never read so many mean things said about people, kfc its hilarious) and they have stood up for people being pushed around or messed with in the crowd, breaking up fights etc. they bring fans on stage twenty at a time, they inspire thousands to do what they want, and really just narrate and speak for generation(s). they have been together for over 20 years (longer than i have been a person) and that’s why they’re not just a ‘one day fly’ because ‘its more than the catchy tunes, it goes deeper than that’
and i just really have a lot of emotions over this band okay im sorrythis is so precious. I feel so happy and fortunate to get to see them in person in April. I just love this band and the things they do for people. they make me feel safe, respected, loved, and so valued. I just….can’t wait to meet them. ❤️
