my favourite thing to do is to tell my friends about the wild things victor hugo did and see the look of shock and horror in their faces bc they only know him as the great author who wrote les mis and hunchback and not as the man who gave his fiancee a live bat in an envelope
When I was about to start high school, my mom told me that senior boys were grown men, and if any were interested in me then I should ask myself why they, as adults, were interested in a kid right out of middle school. And why they couldn’t get someone their own age.
Be safe, kiddos. A year counts a lot more when you’re younger, and the kind of senior who wants to date a freshman is well aware of this.
Fuck anyone who says rape culture doesn’t exist. Stories like this make me hate America more and more for treating women and girls with such dehumanization.
They literally gave a rape victim’s address out to the rapist himself. Words cannot describe how disgusted I am with this country’s justice system. There’s something very sinister about American’s desire to protect rapists.
Why are they calling a 12 year old a woman?!
This story is even worse than it looks… Apparently the State started this because she made an application for food stamps??
Please don’t forget this election season that circuit and district judges are also elected officials.
However, the people of Michigan should not forget that Judge Gregory Ross, the piece of idiotic, evil stupidity who did this, is unapologetic and untrustworthy in office.
Also let us not forget that the child-raping scumbag (Christopher Mirasolo) not only raped a 12 year old, but also, after serving his 6 months of jail time, raped a different 14 year old girl. He is free on the streets.
The first victim, who we know as Tiffany, is now a 21 year old with an eight year old son. Her age at the time of his birth would have been listed on his birth certificate. Any twelve year old could not have conceived out of a non-rape situation. This judge has no excuse.
At the minimum (and this is the bare goddamn minimum) anyone who sexually assaults a minor should not be able to leave jail until several years after the minor becomes an adult. At least. That’s just basic goddamn sense, using the justice system to help rebuild a sense of safety and security for the assaulted child, and enduring they have some time to get their feet under them as an adult before ever having to think about their rapist’s release.
But noooooo. The fucking American justice system gives six months in prison to a child rapist, gives them their victim’s address, and after they then go on to rape another child (he got the address before the second rape so I’d like to note that that judge clearly put the first child in serious danger) and after that they get another sentence light enough that they can be out of jail while their first victim is still young, and then get goddamn custody of their victim’s child, because she was impoverished and needed government assistance to provided for herself and her child. That’s what our justice system does.
I was talking to my mom the other day, and she said she was going to start going to the gym, because its important care for your body. I’m disabled w/ multiple chronic illnesses, so going to the gym is impossible for me. She seemed to realize this, and started to backtrack, saying like – its part of taking care of herself, and I interrupted and said, “Its okay mom. You and I taking care of ourselves look very different”. And thats what I would like you to know.
Taking care of yourself looks different.
For some people, taking care of themselves looks like fruit smoothies and gym visits, cutting out sugar and weight training.
For some people, taking care of themselves looks like hospital visits, feeding tubes and ports. Needles and tests.
For some people, taking care of themselves looks like taking medication and lying down in a cool dark room.
For some people, taking care of themselves looks like getting any calories in their body that they can.
For some people, taking care of themselves looks like adding in more vegetables and trying to go outside to get sun more often.
For some people, taking care of themselves looks like seeing a therapist, keeping symptom journals, and practicing mindfulness, meds, or grounding techniques.
We all have different needs. Please don’t feel bad about how you care for yourself just because someone else is able to do “more”, or their care is more performative or obvious. Please don’t look down on someone for caring for themselves in a way that you do not. Medication and rest are just as important as exercise and vegetables.
Keep doing your best to care for yourself, the best way you know how. Your self care and health is important, no matter what it looks like.
